HOT DOG PICNIC – We are having hot dogs with all the fixings downstairs after worship. This is Lannette’s last day playing for us, so please join us at the picnic to let her know how much we have appreciated her and to wish her well.

LAURIE’S KITCHENis tomorrow night from 5:00 to 7:00. If you attended last month, you know what a good cook Laurie is, so please join us for this free meal and entertainment. There is no charge, but a donation basket will be available if you choose to donate. Also, we need people to help with the set-up and clean-up, so please let the pastor know if you would like to volunteer.

GALENA COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE
The next blood drive will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12th, at the Ramada Inn Conference Room. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.
The days are shorter and Frosty has already visited us. As we make plans to prepare for the winter and the upcoming Advent season, be sure to plan for the United Churches of Galena Community Christmas Concert that will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4th, at St. Michael Catholic Church.
A volunteer is needed to be a Blood Program Leader for the American Red Cross. Duties include confirming the site for the blood drive, lining up volunteers to help, and getting out posters and flyers. Minimum requirements include being able to help at all four blood drives which are in February, May, August, and November; having great communication skills, and being able to maintain confidentiality. CARIBBEAN HURRICANE RELIEF
If you would like to donate toward the recovery of victims of the recent hurricanes in the Caribbean, you may do so through our church. Simply mark your gift “Caribbean relief” and we will forward that gift to the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance organization.
NORTHWESTERN ILLINOIS COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY
NICAA Gold Meals delivers hot mid-day meals to persons 60 years of age and older who are homebound and unable to make their own meals. Hot meals are delivered Monday through Thursday, with a cold tray delivered on Thursday for Friday's meal and frozen meals for the weekend. Sack suppers are available. A suggested donation of $3 per meal is requested, but no one will be denied service due to their inability to donate. Call 815-232-8896 to determine eligibility and start service. Meals can usually be started the next day.
